These quotations from Whinnie the Pooh came to me from an unlikely source--a memo from a University of Utah administrator--but they made me think of my mom: “We didn’t realize we were making memories. We just knew we were having fun.” and, “A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside.” My mom loved Whinnie the Pooh (Milne's books, decisively NOT! the Disney remakes) and Shepard's illustrations, and she she valued friendship above most things. She loved having fun. But she wasn't the type of person to say, "I love having fun!"; she just had it.
